Karaoke: the karaoke video maker
Upload the full song and paste the lyrics: the music plays without the vocals, every word lights up as it is sung, and Vocal volume keeps a guide voice if you want one. 4K at 60 fps, no watermark.
A karaoke video plays a song without the singer and lights up each word as it is due, so anyone can sing along in time. Karaoke, the karaoke video maker, makes one from the full song you already have, with no instrumental version to find. For a lyric video with the vocals left in, use Compose instead.
How it works
- Upload the full song, vocals and all: an MP3 or WAV of 30 seconds to 10 minutes
- Open Lyrics, paste the words, one line per sung line, and sync them to the song
- Play it through, drag any line that lands early or late, then press Apply
- Pick Wipe or Pop and the colours of the words, and set Vocal volume
- Add a background, props, text and images around the words
- Choose landscape, vertical or square, render, then download from your library
Do I need an instrumental version?
No. Upload the song as it is and it plays without the vocals, in the preview and in the finished video. A song is prepared once, the first time you open it in Karaoke. While the Preparing your karaoke track card is showing, the full song plays and the whole frame stays open to edit. The music switches over by itself when it is ready, and Render waits until then.
Want some of the singer back? Vocal volume, in the Music panel, runs from 0, the music alone, to 100, the original vocal at full level. Anything in between leaves a guide voice under the music, which helps when the song is new to whoever is singing. The finished video carries the same mix you hear while you work.
How do the words light up?
Every word is timed to the song, not just every line. The line being sung is set large and the next one waits underneath, smaller and faded, so the singer can read ahead, and the first line appears a few seconds before it is due. Headers like [Chorus] and repeat markers like (x2) in the pasted lyrics are understood, and a chorus written once but sung again is expanded for you.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Highlight | Wipe fills each word with colour while it is sung, so a long note fills slowly. Pop lights each whole word the moment it starts, with a small bounce. Wipe is the default |
| Text color | The words still to come, and the next line |
| Accent color | The sung words |
| Glow color | The glow behind the sung words |
How do I fix a line that is early or late?
Drag it. In the lyrics screen every timed line sits as a bar under the waveform: move a bar to move its line, words and all, or pull either end to change how long the line stays on screen. Every change can be undone. Already have the timing as an SRT file? Use Load SRT file and its lines arrive timed. An SRT file times lines rather than words, so the words of each line light up in turn across that line's time. The lyric videos page covers the lyrics screen in full.
What sizes does it export?
| Frame | Size | For |
|---|---|---|
| Landscape, 16:9 | 3840 x 2160 | YouTube |
| Vertical, 9:16 | 2160 x 3840 | Shorts, Reels and TikTok |
| Square, 1:1 | 2160 x 2160 | Feed posts |
Rendering is part of the Creator plan, with unlimited renders, so a version with a guide voice and one without are simply two renders of the same project.
