Text and fonts

Add titles, artist names and any other text to a video, across 200 fonts, with size, weight, alignment, colour and effects.

Text is a layer. Add as many as you need, place each one where you want it, and give each its own treatment.

What you can change

• Font, from a library of 200 families
• Size, weight, letter spacing and line height
• Alignment and position, by dragging or with the arrow keys
• Colour, and effects like a shadow or a glow where the design supports it

Does it support other alphabets?

Yes. Arabic, Hebrew, Devanagari, Thai, Greek, Cyrillic and more are shaped properly, which means joined where the script joins and laid out right to left where the script runs that way. If a font you pick does not cover the characters you typed, the studio says so rather than drawing empty boxes.

What text should go on a music video?

Less than people expect. The track title and the artist name are usually enough, because the platform already shows both around your video. A Spotify Canvas needs even less: Spotify's own guidance suggests leaving the song and artist name out, because the Now Playing view already has them.
