Making your first video

The whole path from signing up to a finished MP4: upload a track and cover art, pick a template, tune it, render and download. No editing experience needed.

This is the shortest complete route from nothing to a finished file. It uses the Music Visualizer because it is the fastest, but the shape of the process is the same in every studio.

What you need before you start

  • An audio file: MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC or OGG
  • Cover art, ideally square and at least 1000 x 1000 pixels
  • An account, which is free. See creating an account

Step 1: start a project

Open the studio and pick Music Visualizer. Name the project. The name is only for you and you can change it at any time from the top bar.

Step 2: add your music and artwork

Upload the track. The studio analyses it once, which takes a few seconds, and from then on the preview reacts to the real song rather than to a placeholder. Then add the cover art. Full detail in uploading music and artwork.

Step 3: pick a template

Choose from 42 designs in the left panel. Click one and the preview changes immediately with your own track and artwork in it, so you are comparing real options rather than demos. Browse them all on the templates page.

Step 4: make it yours

The right-hand panel holds every control the template has: colours, fonts, sizes, the background, how hard the bars react. Change anything and the preview updates as you watch. Nothing here is destructive, and undo works.

Step 5: choose the format

Pick landscape, vertical or square in the top bar. The readout shows the exact size of the file you will get. Landscape for YouTube, vertical for Shorts, Reels and TikTok, square for feed posts. See export formats and sizes.

Step 6: render and download

Press Render. The job runs on our machines, so you can close the tab and come back. When it finishes, the video appears in your library ready to download. See rendering and downloads for how long it takes and what happens if something goes wrong.
